This paper describes an alternative approach to interpreting the data from a temporarily encoded structured light system. Instead of focusing on the stripes generated in the image by such a sensor, the transitions between stripes are of primary importance. Transitions correspond to projector shutter features signiicantly smaller that the stripes and hence their spatial location is much more well deened. This leads to higher accuracy 3D data.
